More Perks! [Thursday, 02 April 2009]

Every Tuesday after I get off of work at four I head over to the temple to assist in the baptistry. Almost all of the temple workers there know me by now. You might say that this is my way of getting 'baptisms'. If it is, I get about 20-100 baptisms per week, depending on how busy it is and how many people come in without an endowed priesthood holder. Funny enough, that's not the perk I'm talking about (even though it totally rocks). The perk that came to mind was getting to play with the stamp.

That's right - the stamp. You see, I've gone there so much that they don't care if I help to scan and stamp the temple cards. This is strangely exciting like you wouldn't believe! I mean, you wouldn't think that there would be much joy in sticking a card under a scanner and waiting for the ding... but you'd be wrong! It's pretty much amazing. And the only think better than the scanning job is the stamping job. There is something about stamping something that is so satisfying. It makes you feel all tingly. Especially when you know that not only are you getting to stamp something but you're also helping somebody receive the ordinances necessary for his/her exaltation. That's a double bonus if you ask me.
